The benefits of wild herbivory in the landscape, provided by the Sorraia horses, were proven. Despite the time of year not being the best, we managed to spot some interesting species of fauna. Griffon vultures, Booted Eagle, Short-toed Snake Eagle, Black Kite and Red Kite, flocks of bee-eaters, Kingfisher, Black Stork and otter, among others.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">It was easier to spot several species of butterfly.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">There was also time to relax and swim in the River C\u00f4a, to alleviate the effects of the summer heat.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">At dinner we had the good humour and culinary creativity of chef Miguel Veiga, who delighted us with some vegan dishes that were well-balanced and had surprising flavours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">For the field meals we had picnics provided by Mercearia do Fradinho and Mercearia Saudade. Made up of products from the region and produced sustainably, healthy and with authentic flavours.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">Having stayed at the Rewilding Centre, managed by Rewilding Portugal, they had the opportunity to meet the staff of this organisation. It was also possible to get to know the atmosphere of the village of Vale de Madeira (Pinhel).<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">On the last night, we joined Marco Ferraz, from Ambieduca, to learn about the artistic archaeological heritage that our Palaeolithic ancestors left engraved on the rocks of the C\u00f4a, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin: 0in; font-family: Calibri; font-size: 11.0pt;\"><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 16px;\">At Wildlife Portugal we organise tours to explore the territory of the Greater C\u00f4a Valley and the rewilding areas, combining flavours and experiences provided by our colleagues and partners of the Wild C\u00f4a Network.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=&#8221;nivo&#8221; interval=&#8221;3&#8243; images=&#8221;17547,17549,17551,17538,17540,17542,17544&#8243; img_size=&#8221;large&#8221; css=&#8221;&#8221;][\/vc_column][\/vc_row]<\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=&#8221;&#8221;] These days, we organised a tour in the Greater C\u00f4a Valley, where our clients were able to visit the several rewilding areas.
